WHY I DO IT

Commitment to My Work

Ignition Academy could not have happened without my amazing family, friends, and clients who have all supported me every step of my journey. My draw to coaching started many years ago with the realization I had taken myself as far as I could, but I wanted more. I had a big vision but was stuck. After nearly 3 years of intensive personal development starting with Landmark forum & advanced courses, and completion of a 2 year ICF accredited coach & leadership training program, I finally found possibility, purpose and joy again. As a leader in my community, with all my experience and continuous training and coaching over the years, I’ve become very passionate about the idea that by doing our deep work with a little bit of support, no possibility is too big, that we can create anything we want!

About Me Continued

Only months later, in December 2004, tragically after his twin infant daughters Leukemia diagnosis, Brian became a stay home dad. With a shift in priorities, but much ambition and a renewed passion for health, in 2006 decided to start a home business called, The Only Fruit, selling health and wellness products while supporting others to do the same. In support of his business, in 2009 Brian joined the Home-Based Business Connection (HBBC), a support group with, Greater Spokane Incorporated-GSI (Spokane’s Chamber of Commerce). After learning GSI planned to disband HBBC, and with many members seeing his leadership, in 2010, enrolled him in taking it over from GSI, leading HBBC over those next 5 years hosting monthly educational group meetings with expert speakers and individual support.

Later that year, Brian was approached by a friend with an idea that would change many lives. Two years later, in 2012, that Idea led to the formation of Spokane’s newest nonprofit, Elevations; A Children’s Therapeutic Resource Foundation, whose sole purpose was to financially support children who struggle to pay for medically required therapeutic services. As co-Founder, Brian took up an active leadership role as Vice President helping shape the institution to what it is today.

Backtracking a bit, while his children attended Cataldo Catholic School, in Spokane, Brian fell in love with the community quickly, becoming a super volunteer supporting the Rock Band Elective as drum and vocals coach, supported annual fundraisers, and became an active member of the Facilities committee.

After a major breakdown realizing something was missing, in 2013, Brian embarked on a journey filled with massive personal development, open to whatever came next. With a commitment to possibility and purpose, in 2014, Brian enrolled with, Accomplishment Coaching and Leadership, a highly acclaimed professional ICF accredited Coach and Leadership training program and over the next 2 years embarked in some of the most rigorous personal development of his life, leading him to become a Certified Life Coach. While that same year, also becoming Co-Chair for the Cataldo Catholic School facilities Committee. And in 2015, in recognition of Brian’s commitment and leadership, was invited to join the School Governance Board as a Member of the Board.

Today, Brian enjoys a successful career coaching business leaders, executives, and entrepreneurs with a focus on personal development, life balance and personal leadership. Brian is a devoted passionate husband of 27 years, Dad, Entrepreneur, Leader, Drummer, Outdoorsman, devout Christian, Loyal Friend, Professional Possibilitarian, and all around Great Human Being serving everyone everywhere.
